Alfred Family Walk-through Museum

Here is a suggestion of something you and your family may want to create for our new Family walk-through museum…

Write a letter to your great-great grandchildren.  Tell them about yourself and about what’s happening in your time.  Share with them your greatest accomplishments and how you’ve overcome any major challenges.  Leave for them your favorite Words of Wisdom. Speak blessings and encouragement to them and include your favorite family portrait.   


Fun Family Activity

  Message Rainbow

Draw a picture of a rainbow with 5 arcs. 

In each arc write the following:

1st arc - "I am..."

2nd arc - "I can..."
3rd arc - "I have..."
4th arc - "I will"
5th arc - "I believe..."
. 
Each person should fill in each arc with as many adjectives they can think of.  After everyone has completed their rainbow, compare your answers with each other.  Discuss how each attribute can be used as a positive component for the growth of your family unit.  If you choose, color or decorate your rainbow and place it on the refrigerator to remind the family of their individual strengths and collective goals.

As the economy continues to decline, don't allow the threat of high gas prices and other necessities prevent you from investing in your heritage.
Here are a few "fun, fund raising" ideas that your family may want to do to help with reunion costs...

  1. Casino trip
  2. Bake sale
  3. BBQ dinner, boudain/sausage sale
  4. Raffle
  5. Bingo night
  6. Garage sale
  7. Car Wash
  8. Playstation/X-box play-off/tournament (charge minimal amount for youth to come together and play videos, serve snacks and provide a small trophy/ribbon for the winner)
  9. Flag football tournament
  10. Swim party
